What to Pack

If you are visiting Baton Rouge in the summer, it is hot and humid just like the rest of the South. Shorts and short-sleeved shirts are acceptable for any day activities and excursions. In the evenings, light clothing is also recommended. Depending on where you go, you may need to wear pants and a nice shirt, but fortunately almost all establishments have indoor seating and air conditioning. It rains often, too, so pack some waterproof wear. Any time other than summer (considered April through October), the weather is a bit more unpredictable, with temperatures in the 40s during cold fronts and reaching the 80s during the day.
