Beauty maven and California native Lisa Hoffman knows how to sniff out the latest and greatest fragrance finds, whether it’s a boundary-pushing perfume (think Madagascar Orchid and French Clary Sage) or an innovative way to wear a scent. The latest product in her Lisa Hoffman Beauty collection is the Fragrance Jewelry collection, with its clever scent-delivery system: Small wooden beads infused with her fragrances fill charms strung on bracelets. Hoffman also crafts soy wax candles, rich body lotions and aromatic body washes.

Hoffman lives in LA with her husband, actor Dustin Hoffman, and she loves Venice’s hip Abbot Kinney Boulevard. “I love smelling the fresh ocean air while shopping at great places, eating great food, seeing beautiful art and people-watching,” she says.

Tortoise has the very best of functional Japanese design, including unique art, books and home décor,” Hoffman says. “I want to purchase everything here. I am especially loving garden scissors as gifts these days.”

“I am obsessed with Gjelina. Dining on the patio is the way to go. I always order a ton of the small plates to share so I can enjoy as many taste treats as possible. I highly recommend the Tuscan kale salad and grilled Australian lamb chops.”

Bountiful has one of the most amazing collection of vintage cake stands I’ve ever seen. Think cake stands from floor to ceiling—square, round, cut glass, stands trimmed in gold leaves. I also adore fine linens, and they have a lovely selection here.”

“One of the pleasures of Abbot Kinney is visiting the art galleries,” Hoffman says. “The G2 Gallery showcases environmental photographic art, and all proceeds go to environmental charities, so a purchase always feels extra good.”

The Otheroom is a great place for a pre-dinner drink,” she says. “With a spare, industrial ambience, it still retains a cozy, intimate feel, mostly due to its friendly patrons. And it’s one of the few bars in town with a sake menu.”
