Mineta San Jose International Airport:
San Jose’s airport code is SJC, and it is located 4 miles from downtown San Jose. Rental cars are available at the airport as are shuttle services. Additional transportation options: Taxi: 10 minutes, $15.

Getting Around San Jose:
The San Francisco Bay Area is well connected. Thanks to the train system called Caltrain, many of the major cities—San Jose, Santa Clara, Palo Alto, San Francisco—are linked and easily accessible. As for downtown San Jose, getting from here to there is not difficult on foot. There are also several public transportation options including bus and light rail. Outside downtown, things are more spread out so a car is the most convenient.

Geography and Climate:
San Jose is located in the Santa Clara Valley bordered by two ranges of mountains. It has a population of 970,000 and an area of 175 square miles. Summer temperatures hover between 60 and 80 degrees and winters range from 40 to 60 degrees. Fall and spring are typically between 50 and 75 degrees. San Jose is located in the Pacific time zone.
