Datz is more than a deli; the attached gourmet market sells unique ingredients from all over the world.

Before January of this year, Tampa was deprived of something monumental: a delicious gourmet market and deli. Just recently, Datz Delicatessen entered the scene and has generated an instant obsession, bringing closet foodies everywhere out of the woodwork. Stumble upon this gastronomic gem just fifteen minutes from the airport for a memorable lunch, or to pick up a few key ingredients for your stay.

The idea for Datz originated when owners Suzanne and Roger Perry left their beloved hometown markets behind and moved to Tampa in 2006. The sweet husband-and-wife team were stunned at the void of such a necessity and decided to take on the task of introducing the sunshine state to the dining concept. Datz opened on January 28th and has served thousands from far and wide ever since.

Local delis have been around for years but only recently have these tasty establishments become a colossal trend, featured on popular TV shows and splashed on the pages of favorite papers and magazines. Datz is following the fashion to a T and quickly becoming a must among locals and visitors alike.

Expect Delays
Give yourself ample time to order and enjoy your visit. Not only does the deli have more than forty sandwiches, but there’s an extensive selection of microbrews and wines by the glass as well as an entire Euro market filled with rare cheeses, chocolates, salts and preserves that will make your mouth water.  

Head upstairs, and you’ll find the oh-so-popular Datz loft, which perks up once the sun goes down with live music every night of the week. Saddle up to the bar, and tune in to local bands playing everything from urban R&B to cool flamenco guitar.
